The war report up to Summer Eve 996

  • Although a successful raid was performed against a baggage train of the enemy, less - in fact no money was found than hoped. The Grimsburgh ex-patriate community has been declared bankrupt and key citizens removed from comfort of Lord Caistell's provinces

  • The word is that the War council has sufficient private funding. Sources are unclear, but it is apparent that Grimsburgh's elite citizens are being excluded from the decision making process

  • 70 foresters are on their way to Caistell, 80 knights are expected to follow and hopefully 60 guards. Although state paid troops will expect food and shelter judged at 1c per month

  • "Prinz" Albrecht returned recently from the south, his people on the continent, apparently have some experience of this sort of enemy. Also a contingent of "Royal guards" are, according to Albrecht, available to him. Quite what sort of troops these are , is unyet unknown, as precise numbers......

  • The Storrveggans have been busy at tasks of fortification, digging, burning and so on but have not acted aggressively. 3 further ships have tried to leave 4 days ago but a trap set by primate Mulg Tellick resulted in the second ship fouling in the dock gates. The Storrveggans have set about dismantling it and removing it. Scouts have reported that the ship was carrying tools, cloths, pottery and candles.

  • The Giant has moved up to mythic proportions - despite no witnesses, including valiant scouts (of whom 5 have been lost on spying missions) having seen it since the battle. Claims say it to b some 100 ft tall!!!! Since readers will recall Grimsburgh once was visited by a beast 6 times that height; however there is no evidence of the current creature even existing.
